About The Directory
Our creation of a local business and/or community services directory is certainly not a new idea. Many exist throughout the country. The founders of Onlineoakville.com just got tired of trying to locate businesses, services and products that were in our neighborhood. WE LIVE AND WORK in Oakville, Missouri. There was no easy way to locate a locksmith, landscaper, insurance person etc. without pouring over the pages of a telephone book full of businesses and trying to read the name, address and phone number to determine the location of the business. There had to be an easier way. There was. We determined that we were not the only ones who felt that way. And our response from local business people was positive as well. We do list some general services and emergency numbers in order to make this directory an overall useful aid. We also have some entities that may not be in Oakville, Missouri. Those categories either were not in the Oakville area or did not wish to participate in our directory. Utility companies, sports ticketing services, and other numbers are provided for the convenience of the user and are examples of this.
Our directory is both in paper format and an online version. This should be helpful to the computer savvy folks as well as those of us who just want a copy by the telephone. We tried to break out the major categories and I’m sure this will change over time. Our paper version will be distributed in January of each year with the online version being updated more frequently. In our first year we will be distributing over five thousand paper copies throughout Oakville. We feel that as we grow, this figure will rise dramatically. We currently are working with Real Estate Agents and Title Companies to distribute our directories to new residents as well as many apartment complexes for their new residences as well.
Our business and Community Directory is made up of businesses, churches, and organizations that want the support of the residents of Oakville, MO The entities in the directory chose to be there. Many of these owners reside in the Oakville area themselves. They are our neighbors and have chosen to make Oakville their home. If you are like us, you want to have the convenience of using someone close to home for many types of goods and service. You will note that there are not a lot of the large national chains in our business directory.
We are trying to provide a service to the residents and businesses in Oakville, Missouri. It is our hope that we can do that. As we roll out our newsletter and other services we will strive to provide you with information about Oakville for the people in Oakville.
